The Ship
The Prairie Lily is a 119 Passenger Riverboat Plying the South Saskatchewan River Within the City of Saskatoon
She has 700 square feet on the main, interior deck and another 700 on the canopy covered second level.
The Lily is equipped with a bar, heating and air conditioning, two washrooms and a serving galley. She has a forward gangway that can be used to load or unload passengers from the front. The wheelhouse (pilot house) is located on the upper deck giving the Captain the best view possible of the river and surroundings.
Capacity
The Main Deck of the Prairie Lily has two seating areas. The “Captain’s Lounge” sits to the rear of the Main Deck of the Prairie Lily and seats up to 32 people. The forward “Saskatoon Lounge” on the Main Deck can also seat up to 32 people. Combined, the Lily can accommodate 64 seated guests on each cruise.
The upper deck of the Prairie Lily has a canopy and open seating. We can welcome up to 52 passengers “up top”. Guests that have rented the main cabin are welcome to head upstairs and enjoy the weather and fresh air when capacity permits.
Propulsion
The Lily is driven by two propellers powered by two John Deere Marine diesel engines, and has a separate 25,000 watt diesel power generator. The engines and generator were installed new in the spring of 2015, ensuring the ship is ready to run, meeting the highest environmental standards available, for many years in the future. She is registered at 107.5 gross tons, is over 64 feet long with a 20-foot beam and draws just under 4 feet of water. Her cruising speed is about 5 knots, and she is equipped with GPS, Sonar, Marine VHF Radio and hydraulic steering.

Since then, we have been warmly welcomed by the community and embraced as one of the “must-dos” in Saskatoon – either as a resident or a guest. The Prairie Lily was built in 1989 in La Crosse, Wisconsin and moved by truck to Laughlin, Nevada where she served as a sightseeing, dinner, and wedding charter ship on the Colorado River, operating as the Fiesta Queen.
