Lily of the Valley by Canadian artist Glen Scrimshaw

We’re excited share with you Glen Scrimshaw’s beautiful painting, Lily of the Valley! We’re in awe how he, Saskatchewan’s most recognized artist, captured the beauty and tranquility of the South Saskatchewan River with the Lily’s calm reflection as she makes her way peacefully along the river. Also in the painting is one of Saskatoon’s many bridges and the grand Bessborough Hotel. The setting sun behind the city radiates the warmth of a summer’s evening.

Glen tells us that this work now holds the record as “the painting that took the most time to paint” given the intricate parts of the ship, taking a little over four months to complete. We admire his remarkable attention to detail. It’s a stunning piece of art, and we’re honoured to be included in his impressive body of work.
